Kauai’s Alana Blanchard’s model good looks have come as a blessing and a distraction. Sure it’s great to be named a Men’s Health magazine Sexiest Woman in Sports and the “hottest female surfer in the world,” but whatever…. for Alana, surfing’s the first priority, not America’s Next Top Model.

So how do you get people to take you seriously when dudes and chicks alike tend to focus steadfastly on your blonde-bombshelliciousness? Well, you go out and beat the best in the world at the Haleiwa Pro and follow it up by qualifying for the elite Women’s WCT at the age of 20. She did that. Point made… she’s hot AND talented. She also has more aloha than you can shake a koa stick at… no high maka maka here, cuz.

Alana has a world-class backside attack and can mack solid front side hits. The Kauai native’s favorite maneuver is perfecting airs and she does a beautiful job at it. Out of the water, she works on her own swimsuit collection with Rip Curl, consults on movies like Soul Surfer (the story of her best friend Bethany Hamilton), and fit in a little modeling between trips and heats.
