Spy Optic is looking for an outstanding Marketing/Public Relations intern.
The Spy Optic internship will be unpaid-college-credit based program that will assist with the following:
- Filter all marketing/public relations requests
- Update and maintain Spy Optic social media networks (Spy blog, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Loop’d, etc.)
- Maintain database of magazines, product placement scans, resize photos and create product placement reports
- Update and maintain blog posting
- Maintain editorial calendar and create pitch list
- Send out product placement requests, tracking, follow up
- Maintain charitable requests with product donations and rewards program
- Maintain database of warranty cards
- Assist with event planning and special projects as needed

Customer Service Manager (Warranty & Sales Support)
Spy Optic, a developer and distributor of premium eyewear products is seeking a highly motivated, Customer Service Manager. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales and is based out of our Carlsbad, California headquarters.
Position Summary
· Manage performance of Customer Service staff through coaching, training and performance metrics.
· Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on organizational performance and productivity.
· Drive continuous service improvement based on quality metrics and customer feedback.
· Management of customer escalations and service request management
· Develop strong business partnerships with other internal departments.
· Monitor programs and procedures to ensure deadlines are met.
Customer Service - Sales Support
1. Manage Sales Support Staff
2. Analyze & review reports to monitor rep activity including, but not limited to: Daily call logs, CRM, availability, backorders, stock status, old orders, orders on entry hold, quotes, RMA’s
3. Manage Display Program for U.S and Canada
Customer Service - Warranty
1. Manage Warranty staff
2. Have solid understanding of warranties and non-warranty solutions
3. Work with any dissatisfied customers to address and correct the issue as needed
4. Update all forms and pricelists as needed
5. Communicates and implements all new procedures
6. Review reports including Daily call logs, RMA’s, Orders, etc
Knowledge and Abilities
1. 3+ years of customer service & sales support experience at a management level
2. Superior written and verbal communication skills
3. Knowledge of Great Plains and CRM
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
5. EDI experience a plus
6. Must be able to maintain calm demeanor while dealing with difficult accounts and soothe distraught consumers along with the ability to consider different solutions to a problem and choose the appropriate action, often under pressure
7. Must be detail oriented and extremely organized
8. Ability to prioritize daily/weekly workload and responsibilities
9. Ability to handle multiple projects and work in an autonomous environment with minimal direction or supervision

Help Desk Support
Spy Optic, a developer and distributor of premium eyewear products is seeking a Help Desk Support Engineer. This position is based out of our Carlsbad, California headquarters.
This position will be involved in every aspect of technology initiatives including support, planning, deploying, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting of client and server systems with a multitude of applications. This position will work closely with other local and global staff members, but will need to be able to function under minimal supervision and with a good degree of responsibility.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Acts as technical contact and interface for server issues
· Maintain monthly Database maintenance routines such as system backups, system restarts and code deployment for development.
· Deploy, maintain, and upgrade a variety of desktop, laptop and server devices and applications.
· Assist with Microsoft Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) user issues, server performance and maintenance.
· Must be able to effectively prioritize work assignments and give attention to detail.
· Provide input and participate on new technology projects and roll outs.
· Must have a flexible schedule and is subjected to on-call 24 hours, 7 days a week to cover operation failure or project deliverables.
· Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Support and administration of Database environment, which Identify, research, resolve, document, and track technical problems pertaining to infrastructure and applications
· Provide helpdesk support for advanced internal user issues and routine operational issues
· Administration of all desktops, servers and network Infrastructure, including backup and tape management process.
· Proactively monitor systems and applications for performance problems, security threats and operational failure.
· Performs analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing personal computer systems and peripherals.
· Confers with end users to determine type of hardware and software requirements, power and connectivity requires.
· Maintains telecommunications systems. Installs new hardware and maintains existing hardware.
· Trains end users in use of equipment and software.
Experience:
· A degree in Computer Science or Equivalent work experience
· Operating Systems: Windows: Server 2003 & 2008, Linux: CentOS5.2
· Database: Windows MS SQL 2000/2005 & MySQL 5.x
· A working knowledge of ANSI standard SQL as well as Microsoft T-SQL and MySQL extensions.
· Desktop Operating Systems: Windows XP, Vista
· Familiar with Handheld Operating Systems, Blackberry, Windows CE/ Mobile 5 & 6
· Must be familiar with Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, SonicWALL, and Linksys equipment
· A concrete understanding of networking concepts and applicable knowledge of protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP(S), FTP and VPN, OSPF, BGP, VoIP, SIP, SCCP, H323, SSH.
· A working understand of administrative scripting/development languages (WSH, BAT, VB, VBS, Perl, PHP, Bash, PowerShell)
· Familiar With: Exchange 2003 / 2007, IIS5 & 6, Cisco Call Manager 6 w/ Cisco Unity, Blackberry Enterprise, InformaCast IP Paging, Cacti, MediaWiki, Kayako Supportsuite, MS CRM 3.0, Metropolis Call Accounting, Docushare, MS Terminal Server, MS SQL Reporting Services,
· Xerox Copiers / HP Networked printers w/ Xerox Secure Access
· Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics GP) 9.0, preferably 10.0
· Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007
· Familiar with web applications: Apache 2.x, MySQL 5.x, WHM/CPanel 11, Exim MTA, MS IIS
